Phoebe Petit Verdot and Prossimo Meritage Blend Win Gold at the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Cup

We are thrilled to announce that 2022 Phoebe Petit Verdot and 2021 Prossimo Meritage Blend, entirely Loudoun-Grown, Loudoun-Made red wines have won gold medal status in the 2026 Governor’s Cup, which recognizes the finest wines across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

These releases showcase the beauty and enjoyment of Loudoun County fruit and we are proud to share this honor with so many other talented wineries, winemakers, vineyard managers and those who work behind the bar and under the sun.

All three wines entered in the competition were recognized for their excellence, with our 2021 Quat Cabernet Franc – which was a very high scoring Gold medal winner from 2025 – again medaling.

We are very thankful to raise our glass! Cheers and come by to try this combined effort that represents Loudoun Wine and all the passion of Wine Reserve at Waterford.
