Background on the Wine:
This release of our annual single varietal is set to be the last sourced entirely from Iron Will. The tried and true approach of 1/2 new and 1/2 old French oak continues a tradition (perpetuity). This fruit was harvested late in the season and it paid off. A nice cool breeze helped assure a pleasurable morning picking big clusters that resulted in an inky delightful wine.

More details on the process:

By aging the wine 14 months we wanted to bring about even more flavor from the barrels but this particular use of our new medium toast barrels brought about a nice lavender note we haven’t detected in previous releases.

Background on the name:
The name “Perpetuity” goes to an old phrase in law that owner Jon always found to be fun to say (the ‘Rule against Perpetuities’ is something any law school student will recall) but this also is a nod to the continuous nature of using Iron Will’s amazing fruit for the past several years. We appreciate what the land has given in this wine.
