Background on the Wine:
Like its single varietal predecessors this wine brings a playful fruit nose, light seasoned pepper on the palate, with a deep finish aided by the new oak.

More date and fruit notes and a lighter body than our 2019 Cabernet Franc, this is the sophisticated sister of our Franc family.

More details on the process:
By aging the wine more than a year and utilizing our new oak (we get several more barrels each year) we brought on a more traditional finish for this Bordeaux champion.

Background on the name:
The secret will come out soon enough – a snafu in the barreling of our 2021 Cabernet Franc means that wine is not going to be a single vineyard and 100% cab franc. As a nod to that combo breaker we realize 2020 will be the final release of an approach to our cab franc, which has remained consistent since the release of our 2017 The Leap, for a while. Enjoy the culmination!
